Scytl´s senior management has broad international experience running leading technology organizations and is singularly focused on developing and delivering secure election management and electronic voting solutions.

Holger Taubmann

Chief Executive Officer of Scytl

Holger Taubmann joined Scytl in April 2018 as Chief Executive Officer. Holger is responsible for leading Scytl´s business worldwide.

Prior to joining Scytl, Holger worked at Amadeus for 20 years where, as Senior Vice President, he led Distribution, the Global Agency Business with the largest business line of Amadeus IT Group. He was a member of the Amadeus Executive Board reporting to the CEO. Previously, he served as Head of Business Control where he was in charge of pricing, revenue management and the marketing data product portfolio. He also headed up the Global Airlines Account team. In 2004 he became CEO of Amadeus Germany, the strongest Amadeus Market, where he impelled the geographically largest region in Amadeus, including Northern Eastern and Central Southern Europe.

More recently, from spring 2017 until March 2018, Holger held the position of VP International at AERTICKET GmbH in Berlin, one of the largest consolidators for air travel worldwide.

His professional career began in 1988 at Deutsche Lufthansa German Airlines, Frankfurt. After completing a three-year training program, that covered most areas at the airline, he first held an analyst position in regional management for Africa. He then worked as a Product Brand Manager.

Holger graduated from Frankfurt University with a Master´s Degree in Business Administration, and in summer 2013 he completed an Executive course at Stanford. He has held various Supervisory Board positions, including at a subsidiary of the Burda Media Group, Tomorrow Focus AG. He was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IFAO AG as well as member of the Supervisory Board of the CPC AG.

Today Holger is an active member of the Advisory Board of several companies: MotionTag GmbH,, GoEuro, and Routeperfect.

Jordi Puiggalí

CSO and SVP Research & Security

Jordi Puiggalí has headed Scytl’s Research & Development Department since the formation of the company. He has been instrumental in the development of Scytl’s technology and intellectual property, co-authoring numerous international patents on application-level cryptography and e-voting security.

Prior to joining Scytl, Jordi was the Technical Director for PKI and security projects at the IT department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.  he has also actively collaborated with the cryptographic research group of the Department of Computer Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona where he co-directed research projects on PKI and applied cryptography.

Jordi is a security expert and has participated as a speaker and lecturer in numerous international conferences on computer security and applied cryptography.  He has a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Julien Moutte

Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technical Officer, Julien Moutte supports and enables Scytl’s business through his deep technological knowledge. Working closely with the executive team, he ensures a common technical vision spreads across the whole company.

Prior to his position at Scytl, Julien has been a key contributor to the multimedia industry and the open source community for more than 10 years. He is a successful entrepreneur and has founded four companies in the past years. In 2004 he founded Fluendo, a company building multimedia solutions based on the GStreamer framework and in 2006 Flumotion, which specializes in streaming technology and services and partners with world leading telcos such as NTT and Telefónica.

Benjamin Roche

VP of Engineering

As Vice President of Engineering, Benjamin Roche is responsible of product development for Scytl’s election solutions, aiming at increasing the adoption of the technology to modernize elections in all kind of organizations, whilst providing more security and transparency for voters.

Prior to his position at Scytl, Benjamin was in charge of treasury solutions in BNP Paribas Paris. His main responsibility was to deliver products to support bank strong investment in cash management activities, managing IT teams at international level while developing digital service offer. Among his initiatives, the creation of a digital lab for innovative projects allowed the bank to accelerate its digital transformation.

Benjamin has a master degree in Computer Engineering from ESAIP (engineering school) in Angers.

Gemma Pons

VP of Delivery

As Vice President of Delivery, Gemma Pons is responsible for all customer projects, focusing on further strengthening Scytl’s delivery excellence whilst providing efficient interaction with the Product team. She drives the entire project supply chain, from project start until maintenance and support. She is in charge of the PMO, as well as the Delivery development and QA team, the Electoral consulting group and the IT department.

Prior to her position at Scytl, Gemma was Director of Software Project Management at Mediapro, where she managed an engineering team including product managers, analysts, developers, architectures, testers, designers, customer services and operations team. One of her main responsibilities was to set the product vision and strategy of Mediacoach Service for LaLiga | Liga de Futbol Profesional based on a deep understanding of the users’ needs, solution design and project management.

Gemma has 15 years of experience in management of operations in product and services in software. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, Spain, with a Master’s Degree in “Image Processing and TV systems” at École Nationale Supérieur des Télécommunications, Paris and a Master’s Degree in “Mathematics, Vision and Training” at École Normale Supérior de Cachan, Paris. In 2007 she completed a Ph.D. in Computer Vision at École Centrale de Marseille.

Gemma has the Superior Piano Teacher Degree from the Conservatori Liceu, Barcelona since 1999.

Silvia Caparrós

General Counsel

Silvia Caparrós joins Scytl as Corporate Counsel in 2014, after more than 20 years practicing law. She has advised Scytl, as external lawyer since 2002.

Silvia’ expertise has been focused on corporate, M&A, commercial, copyright and IT&IP law. Prior to joining Scytl, she was partner at Aequitas Abogados Asociados. Before that she was partner at Bufet Albert Sorroca where, as the head of the Mercantile Department, she participated in a large number of acquisitions advising both national and international corporations, including venture capital transactions.

Silvia has been a regular lecturer on copyright law at the Polytechnic University of Catalunya, the University of Barcelona and at ESADE Ramon Llull University, and has written several monographs and articles on such matter.

Her experience brings a global and transversal vision of the legal aspects concerning corporations. This comprehensive overview together with her knowledge of Scytl will aid the company in continuing its worldwide expansion.

Silvia has a bachelor degree in law from the University of Barcelona, a Master in Foreign Commerce and International Law and a post-graduate course in economics from the University of Barcelona. She has also completed the Research Proficiency Degree (MPhil) on the International Law doctoral program at the University of Barcelona and UC Berkeley.

Daniel Navas

VP Finance

Daniel Navas joined Scytl in September 2010 and is currently the VP of Finance.  In his current position, he is responsible of the Accounting and Finance departments.

In his previous position at Scytl as Financial Director, Daniel was instrumental in the development of the organizational structure of the Group in North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, which included the creation of multiple new subsidiaries and the acquisition of SOE Software and MAXIM Consulting in the United States, and OAK Soluçoes in Brazil.

Prior to joining Scytl, Daniel was a consultant in Deloitte for 5 years, providing audit assurance to several multinational groups, and also participated in several M&A transactions.

He has a bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and a Master in Finance from the University of Barcelona (UB).

Ben Fagg

VP Pre-Sales

Ben Fagg joined Scytl in January 2007 and is currently VP Pre-Sales. In his current position, he is in charge of a worldwide team of professionals responsible for pre-sales, solution architecture and electoral modernization consulting. Since joining Scytl, he has held a number of positions which have allowed him to lead project activities across all regions, helping governments successfully introduce electoral modernization technology into their electoral processes.

Prior to Scytl, Ben worked in the Banking industry at GFT and Automobile industry at Ford Motor Company. He studied Software Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, and the University of Waterloo, Canada.

Jean Souto

VP Strategic Sales and Markets

Jean Souto joined Scytl in November 2007 as Director of Sales for France and the French-speaking countries and is currently Scytl’s VP Strategic sales and markets. Jean brings with him over 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the IT sector.

Prior to joining Scytl, Jean worked in France and Luxemburg, and spent most of his professional career at CGBI, a large French publicly-traded IT services firm where he held various senior positions and was a member of its Executive Committee. At CGBI, he was Director of the Insurance & Banking business unit which became the highest growth business unit in the company. Prior to this, Jean worked as Area Manager in Luxemburg and Eastern France which was the most profitable region during the 4 years of Jean’s tenure.

Jean has a bachelor degree in Information Technology with a post-graduate degree in Business Administration.

Onno van Dommelen

VP Strategic Accounts & Alliances

Onno van Dommelen joined Scytl in 2004 and currently holds the position of VP Strategic Accounts & Alliances. He has been involved in the successful delivery of many high profile and complex elections modernization, eDemocracy and eVoting projects worldwide, and has provided strategic electoral advice in over twenty countries including Australia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ecuador, Finland, Iraq, Norway, Peru, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and United Kingdom.

Onno is a seasoned expert with over 20 years of experience in the IT sector for multinational companies and governments worldwide. He holds wide experience in project management and also has extensive knowledge of software development methods, lifecycles, methodologies as well as software engineering processes, architecture and programming languages.

Before joining in Scytl, Onno was responsible for software development for the Mecalux Robotics division, one of the world’s leading companies in the market of storage solutions. Mr. van Dommelen also has extensive experience in the successful delivery (both calendar and budget) of projects for organizations such as Hewlett Packard, Volvo, British Petroleum, Royal Dutch Army or Hoogovens.

Gwendoline Savoy

Senior Director of Marketing

Gwendoline Savoy joined Scytl in 2006 and is currently Senior Director of Marketing. In her current position, Gwendoline overseas the definition and execution of the company’s marketing strategy at a global level and drives cross-company market and competitive intelligence initiatives. She is responsible for developing the company’s thought leadership efforts worldwide, while supporting demand generation for the public and private sectors. Gwendoline has over 12 years’ experience in the election technology industry and works closely to the executive team in shaping the company’s strategy.

Gwendoline holds a double master’s degree in Marketing and speaks fluently English, French and Spanish. She has been invited to speak in international conferences on market and competitive intelligence in several occasions.

Klaus Thalmann

General Manager Europe

Klaus Thalmann joins Scytl as General Manager Europe. He has spent most of his professional career at global IT companies in senior positions specializing in the Banking Sector. Prior to joining Scytl, he was Managing Director at AGS Global Services, where he was responsible for country management, sales and P&L, and led the transformation of a basic IT services business to a professional services organization doubling its revenues in 3 years. Previously, he worked at Wincor Nixdorf where he managed an international sales division and global account teams taking customers to top ranked accounts worldwide. Prior to this, he hold several sales leadership positions at IBM.

Klaus´ international experience encompasses Europe the US and Latin America and he holds a Bachelor degree in International Business and an MBA specialized in Management Information Systems from Dominican University in Chicago IL.

Richard Catahan

General Manager Canada

Richard Catahan joined Scytl as Project Manager for Canada in 2012, managing the Scytl’s accounts in the Region.  Richard has over 25 years of experience in Project Management and Operations in both the public and the private sector.  Prior to joining Scytl, he was the Registrar of Canadore College, Chair of CRALO (Committee of Registrars, Admissions & Liaison Officers for Ontario Colleges) and a Strategic Advisor for the First Nations Learning Unit.  Richard has been featured in various Computer Magazines worldwide in areas related to ISO Methodologies, ITIL and  Service Excellence.

Richard has a Computer Science degree from CDI, Toronto and is a Certified ITSMF from the Council for Service Management Education.

Jonathan Brill

General Manager US

Jonathan Brill currently serves as the General Manager of US Operations for Scytl. He has been with Scytl for several years and held a variety of leadership positions including Director of Public Affairs and Assistant General Manager.  Throughout his tenure with Scytl, in addition to his management responsibilities, Jonathan has testified in front of several state legislatures and the President’s Committee on Election Administration on key topics like the future of elections.

Prior to joining Scytl, Jonathan spent nearly two decades running political campaigns at all levels of government.  He served as a campaign manager for a congressional member, chief operating officer of a gubernatorial campaign and senior advisor to multiple presidential campaigns.

In the private sector, Jonathan worked with one of the leading public affairs firms helping clients navigate public policy challenges in the fields of banking, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare.  He has also served in executive leadership positions with multiple commercial construction companies.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Business in International Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Management from the University of South Florida.  He resides in Tampa, Florida with his Wife, Wendy and two sons, Jake and Grant.

Sam Campbell

General Manager Asia-Pacific

Sam Campbell joined Scytl in March 2013 and is currently the General Manager for AsiaPac.  In his prior roles in Scytl as Operations Manager Asia Pacific and Director of Scytl Australia, Sam has been deeply involved in the growth and delivery of the business in the region.

With over 20 years of experience in various positions in the IT industry, Sam has performed in many roles from both sales and delivery perspectives. Since first being involved with Scytl in 2005 when working with the Victorian Electoral Commission, Sam has continued to maintain interest in electronic voting and election modernisation techniques, working in depth with Scytl customers to integrate Scytl technology into their business and electoral processes.

Sam is based in Australia has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Melbourne, and has held various security based certifications.
