Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Silvia Caparrós is responsible for setting Scytl’s strategy and leading its business activities worldwide.
Silvia joined Scytl in 2014 and has held multiple senior roles within the company before becoming its CEO in October 2018. During her tenure at Scytl, Silvia has been a member of the company’s Executive Committee as General Counsel, Head of HR and Head of Business Affairs. In this last position, Silvia played a cross-functional role responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities across all the departments within the company.
Prior to joining Scytl, Silvia practiced corporate law for over 20 years as a partner in firms such Aequitas Abogados Asociados and Bufert Albert Sorroca with a focus on M&A, commercial, copyright and IT&IP law. As a lawyer, Silvia represented technology companies (including Scytl since 2002) and venture capital funds in multiple domestic and international transactions.
Silvia has been a regular lecturer on copyright law at the Polytechnic University of Catalunya, the University of Barcelona and at ESADE Ramon Llull University, and has written several monographs and articles on such matter.
Silvia has a bachelor degree in Law from the University of Barcelona, a Master in Foreign Commerce and International Law and a post-graduate course in Economics from the University of Barcelona. She has also completed studies for the International Law PhD program at the University of Barcelona and UC Berkeley.
CSO and SVP Research & Security
Jordi Puiggalí has headed Scytl’s Research & Development Department since the formation of the company. He has been instrumental in the development of Scytl’s technology and intellectual property, co-authoring numerous international patents on application-level cryptography and e-voting security.
Prior to joining Scytl, Jordi was the Technical Director for PKI and security projects at the IT department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. he has also actively collaborated with the cryptographic research group of the Department of Computer Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona where he co-directed research projects on PKI and applied cryptography.
Jordi is a security expert and has participated as a speaker and lecturer in numerous international conferences on computer security and applied cryptography. He has a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
As SVP Operations, Gemma Pons is responsible for all customer projects, focusing on further strengthening Scytl’s delivery excellence whilst providing efficient interaction with the Product team. She drives the entire project supply chain, from project start until maintenance and support. She is in charge of the PMO, as well as the Delivery development and QA team, the Electoral consulting group and the IT department.
Prior to her position at Scytl, Gemma was Director of Software Project Management at Mediapro, where she managed an engineering team including product managers, analysts, developers, architectures, testers, designers, customer services and operations team. One of her main responsibilities was to set the product vision and strategy of Mediacoach Service for LaLiga | Liga de Futbol Profesional based on a deep understanding of the users’ needs, solution design and project management.
Gemma has 15 years of experience in management of operations in product and services in software. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, Spain, with a Master’s Degree in “Image Processing and TV systems” at École Nationale Supérieur des Télécommunications, Paris and a Master’s Degree in “Mathematics, Vision and Training” at École Normale Supérior de Cachan, Paris. In 2007 she completed a Ph.D. in Computer Vision at École Centrale de Marseille.
Gemma has the Superior Piano Teacher Degree from the Conservatori Liceu, Barcelona since 1999.
Daniel Navas joined Scytl in September 2010 and is currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In his current position, he is responsible of the Finance and Accounting departments.
In his previous positions at Scytl as VP Finance and Financial Director, Daniel was instrumental in the development of the organizational structure of the Group in North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, which included the creation of multiple new subsidiaries and the acquisition of SOE Software and MAXIM Consulting in the United States, and OAK Soluçoes in Brazil.
Prior to joining Scytl, Daniel was a consultant in Deloitte for 5 years, providing audit assurance to several multinational groups, and also participated in several M&A transactions.
He has a bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University Pompeu Fabra, a Master in Finance from the University of Barcelona, and a Global Executive MBA from HHL & EADA.
Ben Fagg joined Scytl in January 2007 and is currently VP Presales. In his current position, he is in charge of a worldwide team of professionals responsible for pre-sales, solution architecture and electoral modernization consulting. Since joining Scytl, he has held a number of positions which have allowed him to lead project activities across all regions, helping governments successfully introduce electoral modernization technology into their electoral processes.
Prior to Scytl, Ben worked in the Banking industry at GFT and Automobile industry at Ford Motor Company. He studied Software Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, and the University of Waterloo, Canada.
As Vice President of Product, Benjamin Roche is responsible of product development for Scytl’s election solutions, aiming at increasing the adoption of the technology to modernize elections in all kind of organizations, whilst providing more security and transparency for voters.
Prior to his position at Scytl, Benjamin was in charge of treasury solutions in BNP Paribas Paris. His main responsibility was to deliver products to support bank strong investment in cash management activities, managing IT teams at international level while developing digital service offer. Among his initiatives, the creation of a digital lab for innovative projects allowed the bank to accelerate its digital transformation.
Benjamin has a master degree in Computer Engineering from ESAIP (engineering school) in Angers.
Onno van Dommelen
VP Strategic Accounts & Alliances
Onno is a seasoned expert with over 20 years of experience in the IT sector for multinational companies and governments worldwide. He holds wide experience in project management and also has extensive knowledge of software development methods, lifecycles, methodologies as well as software engineering processes, architecture and programming languages.
Before joining in Scytl, Onno was responsible for software development for the Mecalux Robotics division, one of the world’s leading companies in the market of storage solutions. Mr. van Dommelen also has extensive experience in the successful delivery (both calendar and budget) of projects for organizations such as Hewlett Packard, Volvo, British Petroleum, Royal Dutch Army or Hoogovens.
Senior Director of Marketing
Gwendoline Savoy joined Scytl in 2006 and is currently Senior Director of Marketing. In her current position, Gwendoline overseas the definition and execution of the company’s marketing strategy at a global level and drives cross-company market and competitive intelligence initiatives. She is responsible for developing the company’s thought leadership efforts worldwide, while supporting demand generation for the public and private sectors. Gwendoline has over 12 years’ experience in the election technology industry and works closely to the executive team in shaping the company’s strategy.
Gwendoline holds a double master’s degree in Marketing and speaks fluently English, French and Spanish. She has been invited to speak in international conferences on market and competitive intelligence in several occasions.
Belén Gabutti joined Scytl as Legal Counsel in December, 2018. She holds a Law Degree from the University of Belgrano and a Master’s Degree in Economics & Business Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina. She specialised her international career in Spain by completing a Master’s Degree in International Business Law and Management & Cross-Skills for Legal Professionals at the ESADE Law School in Barcelona.
With 17 years of professional experience at different law firms and companies, Belén has focused her career on legal and business consulting services applied to the internationalisation of companies worldwide, having worked mostly in listed companies in Argentina and the United States, as well as holding companies with offices in Europe, Asia and Latin America. The markedly international and business nature of her legal practice will help to consolidate the Scytl group’s position in the world.
General Manager Europe
Klaus Thalmann joins Scytl as General Manager Europe. He has spent most of his professional career at global IT companies in senior positions specializing in the Banking Sector. Prior to joining Scytl, he was Managing Director at AGS Global Services, where he was responsible for country management, sales and P&L, and led the transformation of a basic IT services business to a professional services organization doubling its revenues in 3 years. Previously, he worked at Wincor Nixdorf where he managed an international sales division and global account teams taking customers to top ranked accounts worldwide. Prior to this, he hold several sales leadership positions at IBM.
Klaus´ international experience encompasses Europe the US and Latin America and he holds a Bachelor degree in International Business and an MBA specialized in Management Information Systems from Dominican University in Chicago IL.
General Manager Canada
Richard Catahan joined Scytl as Project Manager for Canada in 2012, managing the Scytl’s accounts in the Region. Richard has over 25 years of experience in Project Management and Operations in both the public and the private sector. Prior to joining Scytl, he was the Registrar of Canadore College, Chair of CRALO (Committee of Registrars, Admissions & Liaison Officers for Ontario Colleges) and a Strategic Advisor for the First Nations Learning Unit. Richard has been featured in various Computer Magazines worldwide in areas related to ISO Methodologies, ITIL and Service Excellence.
Richard has a Computer Science degree from CDI, Toronto and is a Certified ITSMF from the Council for Service Management Education.
General Manager US
Jonathan Brill currently serves as the General Manager of US Operations for Scytl. He has been with Scytl for several years and held a variety of leadership positions including Director of Public Affairs and Assistant General Manager. Throughout his tenure with Scytl, in addition to his management responsibilities, Jonathan has testified in front of several state legislatures and the President’s Committee on Election Administration on key topics like the future of elections.
Prior to joining Scytl, Jonathan spent nearly two decades running political campaigns at all levels of government. He served as a campaign manager for a congressional member, chief operating officer of a gubernatorial campaign and senior advisor to multiple presidential campaigns.
In the private sector, Jonathan worked with one of the leading public affairs firms helping clients navigate public policy challenges in the fields of banking, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. He has also served in executive leadership positions with multiple commercial construction companies.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Business in International Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Management from the University of South Florida. He resides in Tampa, Florida with his Wife, Wendy and two sons, Jake and Grant.
General Manager Asia-Pacific
Sam Campbell joined Scytl in March 2013 and is currently the General Manager for AsiaPac. In his prior roles in Scytl as Operations Manager Asia Pacific and Director of Scytl Australia, Sam has been deeply involved in the growth and delivery of the business in the region.
With over 20 years of experience in various positions in the IT industry, Sam has performed in many roles from both sales and delivery perspectives. Since first being involved with Scytl in 2005 when working with the Victorian Electoral Commission, Sam has continued to maintain interest in electronic voting and election modernisation techniques, working in depth with Scytl customers to integrate Scytl technology into their business and electoral processes.
Sam is based in Australia and has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Melbourne. He has held various security based certifications.
