Scytl’s election technology to support the Electoral Commission of Malta

The Electoral Commission of Malta recently awarded a contract to Idox Elections, in partnership with Scytl, to provide an electronic vote counting solution as well as online polling station worker training during Malta’s 2019 European Parliament and Local Council elections, involving the simultaneous election of councillors across 68 Localities and the election of MEPs across 13 Electoral Divisions. Scytl will leverage its patent-protected security technology and election training system to ensure transparent and fully auditable results to the election process. The contract, covering a 5 year period, will allow the country to gain efficiencies in the counting process by reducing – from days to hours – the time needed to count ballot papers and publish election results.
