During the recent Hackers To Hackers Conference (H2HC) in Sao Paulo, Scytl shared the floor with global encryption and security experts, enabling the discussion and exchange of knowledge information security and cryptography applied to elections and the online voting industry in both public and private elections.
The session “Voting Amongst Sharks” was presented by Scytl’s security experts Jesús Chóliz and Sandra Guasch, and focused on how voter privacy and election security is assured, sharing insight on the security frameworks and cryptographic protocols available to ensure online voting is done right. With the growth in online voting across the private sector – in 2015 alone +1M votes in Brazil were securely cast with Scytl Online Voting technology – the session addressed the main concerns being raised by users, private organizations and governments and how these are being addressed to ensure higher levels of security than in traditional and postal voting and an overall higher level of verifiability than both traditional channels combined.
