Scytl launches new patented solutions to make overseas voting process more efficient in the US

Mar 21, 2011

Scytl has unveiled two new patented solutions – the Absentee Data Barcode (ADB) and the Ballot Choice Barcode (BCB) – that are specifically designed to improve the processes for US election officials supporting overseas voters as required under the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act.  Supporting standard 2D handheld barcode scanners, the ADB addresses the issue of keying voter data manually into a voter registration system from absentee ballot application requests, whereas the BCB addresses the issue of duplicating ballots for election officials. These two solutions were first utilized in the 2010 General Election by King County, WA as a component of Scytl’s online ballot delivery and marking platform “Pnyx.SecureBallot” – successfully used in 14 states during the November 2010 general elections.
