Lima & Barcelona – October 7, 2014 – Scytl, the worldwide leader in secure online voting and election modernization, has announced the successful implementation and execution of Scytl electronic voting technology for the Peru 2014 Municipal and Regional Elections, giving the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) its full support in delivering it citizens a more secure, transparent and modern electoral system.
The electronic voting solution (Software Electoral en Red) implemented by ONPE and Scytl was used to ensure not only the modernization of the country´s electoral process, but also to provide their elections improved security, transparency and efficiency. The new electronic voting channel was enabled for 7 districts: Punta Hermosa, Punta Negra, Pucusana, Santa María del Mar, San Bartolo, La Punta (Callao) and Pacarán (Cañete).
With the successful delivery of electronic voting, ONPE continues committed to improving the efficiency and transparency of electoral processes and reiterates its confidence in the innovative technology provided by Scytl, the leader in online voting with accumulated experience and proven success in implementing internet and electronic voting in elections in 19 countries.
