Sydney, November 24, 2016 – Backed by the implementation of the world´s most advanced and proven security protocols, iVote was once again leveraged by New South Wales voters. In this instance, remote voters and persons with disabilities were able to vote securely, independently and privately via the iVote platform in the NSW by-elections for Canterbury, Orange and Wollongong.
In addition to its successful deployment for the 2016 NSW by-elections, the iVote platform was also used in the 2015 NSW State General Election where the over 280,000 online votes, an increase of 500% in adoption over its earlier use, set the standard for the world’s largest, most accessible and innovative internet voting implementation. The iVote system has received praise from auditors, security experts and citizens.
Scytl´s advanced security framework not only ensures the integrity of an election, but enables voters to verify their vote as an added safeguard against malicious tampering attacks, an important security aspect of the iVote® System. The integrity of Scytl´s systems and customer deployments are guaranteed by ongoing rigorous testing, third party audits and continued election monitoring activities.
“Helping provide secure, private and accessible online voting is at the core of our DNA; this makes us especially proud to see iVote being successfully used once again by the citizens of New South Wales,” concludes Pere Vallès, CEO at Scytl.
