Tampa, June 30 2014 – To fuel rapid growth in the eGovernance and e-Election space, Scytl, worldwide leader in secure online voting and election modernization technology, appoints Brian O´Connor as the company´s new North America General Manager. To further bolster SOE and Scytl  capacity to broaden its market reach and provide new services to its current client base, additional key election talent have also joined the team: Shawn Pollock and Brian Mortimore as solutions architects, and Steve Smith and Mike Stein as sales directors.

Brian O’Connor brings more than two decades of executive management experience to the organization having held key leadership positions at Sequoia Voting Systems, Datacard, and Danaher and as a business owner and consultant focused on identity and election automation and modernization. Brian is a noted SME in identity management, biometric background check solutions and election automation. His instrumental role in statewide technology implementations across 26 States and multiple municipal governments ensures extensive state and local government background that will be a benefit to current and future customers.

Shawn Pollock has been in the election industry for the past 22 years. Shawn has spent much of his career in senior operational positions leading election readiness efforts such as voter registration, voting and statistical reporting and monitoring within Canada. Shawn has also provided assistance to election jurisdictions around the world including the US, and Eastern Europe.

Brian Mortimore has over 20 years of experience as an internet security and systems architect. For the last six years Brian has been in the elections industry producing and deploying voting and other elections systems. The bulk of Brian’s experience is in technical product management, organizational growth, and product delivery methodologies.

Steve Smith is an industry veteran bringing nearly 20 years of experience delivering high tech and mission critical solutions to government agencies throughout North America.  Steve has held senior positions with Fujitsu, Tyco Electronics, Answer Consulting, PowerTrunk and L3 Communications.

Mike Stein is an industry veteran and SME bringing nearly 20 years of experience delivering high tech biometric enabled solutions to state and local government agencies throughout North America.  Mike has held management positions in the biometrics industry with ImageWare Systems and Cross Match Technologies.
