Voters from Greater Sudbury demonstrated trust in the alternative channel provided by Scytl Online Voting, significantly surpassing the city´s participation goals. Online votes totaled over 26,800, representing a 92% increase over the online vote volume projected by city officials. Online voting was available during the advance voting period of October 14 – 24 allowing Greater Sudbury citizens to securely cast their ballot anytime, from anywhere on virtually any device (PC, laptop, Smartphone, etc.).
“We are thrilled that 45% of votes cast in the election were cast online,” said Caroline Hallsworth, Executive Director Administrative Services/City Clerk, City of Greater Sudbury. “This indicates that our citizens are quickly embracing online voting.”
