Pere Vallès joined Scytl in March 2004 after spending most of his professional career in the United States. Prior to joining Scytl, he was Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of GlobalNet, a NASDAQ publicly-traded telecommunications company headquartered in Chicago. Pere assisted GlobalNet in becoming one of the leading providers of Voice-over-IP in the world and was instrumental in the successful sale of the company to the Titan Corporation, a NYSE defense company.
At GlobalNet, Pere was responsible for designing and executing the strategic plan that led to an increase in revenues from US$ 25 million to over US$ 100 million and brought the company to profitability. Previously, he had worked as Senior Manager for KPMG’s Mergers & Acquisitions group in Los Angeles and Miami providing financial and strategic consulting services to private equity groups and corporations involved in acquisitions in the United States, Latin America and Europe. During his career at KPMG, he actively participated in more than 20 transactions in the telecommunications and technology areas.
Pere has a bachelor degree in Economics and a bachelor degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and a MBA (summa cum laude) from Indiana University.

Bernard Liautaud founded Business Objects in 1990 and was CEO for 15 years then Chairman until January 2008. With 6,700 employees, 45,000 customers and $1.5 billion of revenue in 2007, Business Objects was the world leader in Business Intelligence and one of the 15 largest software companies in the world. Business Objects was the first European software IPO on Nasdaq in 1994. In January 2008, Business Objects was acquired by SAP for $6.8 billion, making it the third largest software acquisition at the time. Bernard is now a member of the SAP Supervisory Board and its strategy committee. He is also a member of Cap Gemini’s board and its strategy committee. He has received a number of distinctions including “Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur” in 2007 in France, Time Magazine Europe’s Digital Top 25 and BusinessWeek Stars of Europe of 2002, Top 10 CEOs in North America by Chief Executive Magazine in 2001. Carles leads the Enterprise Software/Security investment vertical for Nauta. Carles is based in London. Carles has extensive Venture Capital experience, having actively managed different VC funds since year 2000. Carles’ areas of interest include Security, SaaS, Marketing/Social Analytics/Intelligence and Critical-data driven companies. Carles was previously Director of Riva y Garcia’s Venture Capital Division where he led a portfolio buy-out of the Security software investments.
His previous experience includes also management positions in corporate strategy and planning/finance divisions with blue chip companies in the telecommunications, defence/SW/auto spaces and financial services, such as TRW (acquired by Northrop Grumman), Auna Group/Retevision (acquired by France Telecom and ONO) and Ernst & Young.
Carles is very much present in the entrepreneurial/VC ecosystem as active Board member, judge or panelist in leading events such as the Global Security Challenge, The European Tech Tour, The European Venture Contest, SeedCamp, and the IBM SmartCamp, among others.
He holds a Business Administration degree from Universitat de Barcelona, Graduate Programme in International Management from Harvard University and an MBA from SDA Bocconi (Milan, Italy). Carles sits in the board of leading young technology companies as Scytl (Secure Electronic Voting), Brandwatch (Social media monitoring), Agnitio (Voice Biometrics), Abiquo (Cloud Management), Getapp (Workspace for SaaS applications), iJento (Multichannel Customer Intelligence) and Basekit (Saas web builder for SMEs).
Albert Ferrer Oliveras

Graduate in Business Administration and Management and MBA from ESADE Business School, CEMS (Community of European Management Schools) Master’s Degree in Management from the HEC – Hautes Études Commerciales (Paris, France). He joined RIVA Y GARCÍA in March 2001. Prior to this he worked in the financial department of Inlander Communications, an Internet provider company and consultancy firm in new technologies. He has also worked in the marketing department of various companies, such as Hilti and Antonio Puig. Since joining Riva y García he has worked on the analysis and evaluation of business projects in various sectors, with particular emphasis on the audiovisual and entertainment industry, in wholesale/retail sectors and in traditional industrial companies. He has been directly involved in investment operations and in monitoring different investee companies as a member of their Board of Directors.
Managing Director at Vulcan Capital
Abhishek Agrawal is Managing Director at Vulcan Capital and heads Vulcan’s growth equity fund and its Palo Alto office. Mr. Agrawal leads all growth equity investments for Vulcan Capital and focuses on expanding the firm’s investments in the internet and technology sectors globally. He has led Vulcan’s investments into Scytl (Spain), TrueCar, Flipkart (India), Zuora, and Gilt Groupe, since the launch of Vulcan’s growth equity fund in summer 2013.
Prior to joining Vulcan Capital, Mr. Agrawal was at General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm with $18 billion in capital under management, where he worked since 2005 driving investments in the internet and technology space. Mr. Agrawal has been closely involved in many of General Atlantic’s internet and technology investments including AKQA (sold to WPP), Alibaba Group (China), Bazaarvoice (Nasdaq: BV), Dice Holdings (NYSE: DHX), Facebook (Nasdaq: FB), Gilt Groupe, Klarna (Sweden), Network Solutions, Peixe Urbano (Brazil) and Red Ventures. Mr. Agrawal is currently on the Board of Directors of Scytl, TrueCar and Zuora, and was formerly on the Board of Directors of Bazaarvoice (Nasdaq: BV) and Network Solutions (sold to Web.com, Nasdaq: WWWW).
Previously, Mr. Agrawal was with Lazard Technology Partners, an internet and technology focused venture capital firm, where he made several investments in the internet, enterprise software and communications space. Prior to that, Mr. Agrawal was in Lazard’s investment banking group where he provided mergers and acquisitions related financial and strategic advisory services to companies in the technology, media and telecom sectors.
Mr. Agrawal received his B.S. in Economics with concentration in Finance, summa cum laude, from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he ranked first in his class, and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he graduated with highest distinction and was a Baker Scholar.
