Pere Vallès is a tech entrepreneur and investor. After 14 years leading Scytl as its CEO, Pere became the Chairman of Scytl’s Board of Directors in April 2018. Pere is also the Chairman of the first online university in the world (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya – UOC), a General Partner at a tech VC fund (Smartech Capital), an active investor and Board member in multiple technology companies and a member of the Board of Trustees of several academic and research institutions.
Prior to joining Scytl in 2004, Pere was the CFO of GlobalNet, a NASDAQ listed telecommunications company headquartered in Chicago. Pere assisted GlobalNet in becoming one of the leading providers of Voice-over-IP in the world and participated in the successful sale of the company to the Titan Corporation. Previously, Pere worked as Senior Manager for KPMG’s M&A group in Los Angeles and Miami, providing financial and strategic consulting services to private equity groups and corporations in the ICT space.
Pere has a bachelor degree in Economics and a bachelor degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and a MBA (summa cum laude) from Indiana University.
General Partner of Nauta Capital
Carles Ferrer is the representative of the board member Nauta Capital. Mr. Ferrer leads the Enterprise Software/Security investment vertical for Nauta and is based in London. He has extensive Venture Capital experience, having actively managed different VC funds since year 2000. His areas of interest include Security, SaaS, Marketing/Social Analytics/Intelligence and Critical-data driven companies. He was previously Director of Riva y Garcia’s Venture Capital Division where he led a portfolio buy-out of the Security software investments.
His previous experience includes also management positions in corporate strategy and planning/finance divisions with blue chip companies in the telecommunications, defence/SW/auto spaces and financial services, such as TRW (acquired by Northrop Grumman), Auna Group/Retevision (acquired by France Telecom and ONO) and Ernst & Young.
Mr. Ferrer is very much present in the entrepreneurial/VC ecosystem as active Board member, judge or panelist in leading events such as the Global Security Challenge, The European Tech Tour, The European Venture Contest, SeedCamp, and the IBM SmartCamp, among others.
He holds a Business Administration degree from Universitat de Barcelona, Graduate Programme in International Management from Harvard University and an MBA from SDA Bocconi (Milan, Italy). He sits in the board of leading young technology companies as Brandwatch (Social media monitoring), Agnitio (Voice Biometrics), Abiquo (Cloud Management), Getapp (Workspace for SaaS applications), iJento (Multichannel Customer Intelligence) and Basekit (Saas web builder for SMEs).
Borja García-Nieto Portabella

Borja García-Nieto Portabella is the representative of the board member Spinnaker Invest. Mr. García-Nieto Portabella is the founding member and president of Grupo Financiero Riva y García. He has carried out his professional career in the financial sector and has directed several corporate teams specialized in designing financial operations. He co-founded and presides Grupo Financiero Riva y García, a firm specialized in providing personalized and high added value financial advice services, including corporate finance, private equity and private banking. Member of several private companies’ management body, he has been director of Antena 3 TV, Sogecable, Aviaco, Fecsa-Enher and Noatum Maritime among others. He is currently the president of OpenSeneca (digital platform for citizens participation) and he also sits on the board of directors of Nacional de Reaseguros (insurance company) and other portfolio companies of Riva y García Private Equity. Since 2013 he is a member of the Board of Directors of Banco Alcalá. Mr. García-Nieto Portabella holds a Law Degree from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s Degree in Economics and Business Administration (MED-MBA) from IESE (University of Navarra).

Luke Sikora focuses on growth stage investing for Vulcan Capital and is based in Palo Alto. Luke is responsible for making investments in the internet and technology sectors globally. He has been closely involved in Vulcan’s investments in Alibaba, Avvo, Dataminr, Grab, Intercom, Loft, Magic Leap, ScaleFactor, Scytl, Souq, Spotify, TraceLink, TrueCar and Uber.
Prior to joining Vulcan Capital, Luke worked in the Menlo Park Office of Battery Ventures, where he focused on growth equity and buyout investments in the software and internet space. Previously, he worked as an Associate at Pagemill Partners, where he advised technology companies on a wide range of financial and strategic matters including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, and leveraged buyouts. Before joining Pagemill, Luke worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a consultant in the business advisory services and assurance group.
Luke graduated from the University of Southern California, where he earned a BS in Corporate Finance and a BS in Accounting Information Systems.
