2019 Business Excellence Award

Scytl has been awarded one of this year’s Business Excellence Awards from Acquisition International (AI) for the category of "Most Innovative Democratic Voting Solutions Provider 2019".

The awards, which have been run for over 5 years, are given to a variety companies that stand out in their sector, and celebrate the hard work and ingenuity that drives these businesses forward. This year there have been more than 3,000 nominees, of which around 500 have received awards in various categories.

Acquisition International is a UK monthly magazine from “AI Global Media” that informs its more than 108,000 readers in 170 countries on the most up-to-date news in the global corporate sector.

2015 & 2019 Zero Project Award

Scytl has been granted the 2019 Zero Project award for its support to the New South Wales and Western Australia Electoral Commissions in facilitating visually impaired citizens to vote independently and privately. The award ceremony took place during the Zero Project annual conference held at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria on February 20-22.

Scytl was selected from over 318 projects nominated from across the globe by Zero Project’s network of +3,000 disability and accessibility experts.

This is the second time that Scytl receives recognition from Zero Project. In 2015, Scytl had been awarded the Zero Project award for Innovative Policies and Practices for its contribution in supporting persons with disabilities in the State of Victoria, Australia in 2006 and 2010.

Zero Project is a joint initiative of the Essl Foundation, the World Future Council and the European Foundation Centre, that promotes the rights of persons with disabilities and also has the support of organizations such as the United Nations, IFES and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

2017, 2016 & 2015 European Tech Tour Special Jury Award

Scytl has been included for the third consecutive time in the top ranking of The Tech Tour Growth 50, a list of Europe’s fastest growing high-tech companies, receiving the Special Jury Prize by the European Tech Tour Association, for its compelling and transformative services to business and society.  Chaired by Jean-Michel Deligny of Silverpeak, the selection committee of the top 50 companies was composed of international venture capital firms, advisers and experts who judged the companies based on their achievement, impact and momentum.

2017 Best Innovator of the Year

During the 2017 Muncunill Innovation Awards, Scytl was recognized as the Best Innovator of the Year for its entrepreneurial innovation and contribution to society as a whole. Scytl was awarded for its positive impact on participatory democracy, citizen empowerment and public administration transparency via innovative online voting technology on national and international levels.

Though the award ceremony was held locally, the Muncunill Innovation Awards are intended to recognize local, national and international commitment to innovation that are helping to bring the results of modernization to the general public in Terrassa, Spain and beyond.

2017 Best Start-up Award in Spain

As the recipient of the Best Start-up Award in Spain from Actualidad Economica, Scytl and additional organizations such as Job&Talent, Cabify, Inbenta and 4iQ have been praised as “superheroes capable of creating added value”.

With this award, Scytl has been recognized once again for its tireless and continued efforts and positive impact on participatory democracy, citizen empowerment and public administration transparency via innovative online voting technology on national and international levels, its entrepreneurial innovation and its contribution to talent development locally and regionally.

2016, 2015 & 2014 European Business Awards National Champion

For the third year in a row, Scytl has been recognized for its innovative technology by the European Business Awards (EBA) as one of the 2016-2017 National Champion for Spain under the Innovation Category. By actively demonstrating the core principles of the European Business Awards – success, innovation, ethics and an international mind-set, Scytl has been selected as one of the top businesses in the program alongside other companies such as FCC, SynTech Research, Santillana, Telecoming and Factor Energia.
EBA is Europe’s largest and most significant cross-sector business recognition program, supported by businesses leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, media and political leaders from across Europe. It is a prestigious and independent awards competition, sponsored by RSM International, designed to recognize and promote excellence, best practice, innovation and financial success in the European business community.

2015 Innovation and Transformation Award

Scytl closed 2015 with the recognition as one of the Top 25 Hottest Fast-Growing Start-Ups to Watch in Europe, nominated by the most active investors in the sector outside their own portfolios. Scytl was the only Spanish company in the list that includes the most promising and top 25 fast-growing Internet companies worldwide.

Scytl received the 2015 Innovation and Transformation Award by Informilo during his session at NOAH 2015, a conference for late-stage Internet companies in London, November 2015.

2015 Innovation & Transformation Excellence Award

Scytl is the proud recipient of the Adigital Award for Innovation and Technology in recognition of the company’s excellence presented by the Spanish Digital Economy Association (Adigital).

The Adigital awards focus on recognizing excellence in the Digital Economy space reached by individuals, institutions and companies nationwide and reward the contribution of professionals and companies that boost the digital economy in Spain. It brings together an outstanding jury, accompanied by renowned professionals with extensive experience in the online sector.

2015 Deutsch-Katalanischer Unternehmer Preis

Scytl was the proud recipient of the ‘Deutsch-Katalanischer Unternehmer Preis’ award organized by the Spanish firm HLB Bové Montero y Asociados, along with the companies LKC and Pedersen & Partners.

This award recognizes Scytl’s innovative strategy and entrepreneurial excellence, a company that exemplifies how an unequivocal technological focus is beneficial in terms of international competition and accelerated growth.

2015 UAE National Election Committee Award

With the conclusion of the 2015 Federal National Council Elections, the world’s first fully-electronic national election, His Excellency Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the National Election Committee awarded Scytl for its technology excellence and diligent election process and efforts, a key contribution to the successful delivery of the election.

The United Arab Emirates placed its trust in Scytl and its election experts and technology to deliver an efficient, secure and transparent election process, supporting the country´s vison of building a strong election modernization foundation as the country strives for gradual universal suffrage.

2014 Government Online Voting and Election Modernization Innovation and Leadership Award

The Frost & Sullivan 2014 Global Award for Competitive Strategy Innovation and Leadership awarded to Scytl recognizes the company as a leader not only for its investment in R&D, resulting in the most secure platform, but also for its unique growth strategy comprising of organic and inorganic growth, and its innovative pricing strategy by introducing both software as a service (SaaS) and on-premises models.

2013 eGovernance award

In February 2013, the online voting project implemented by Scytl in the Indian State of Gujarat received the 2013 National award for eGovernance under the category “Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering”. The State of Gujarat, with a population of 50 million people, is the first state in having implemented Internet voting in public elections in India. The first online election under this 5-year project was successfully carried out in September 2010, and since then, the online voting system has been used for Municipal Corporation / Municipality Elections. Sponsored by the Indian Government, the National award for eGovernance is aimed at recognizing and promoting excellence in the implementation of e-Governance initiatives in the country.

2013 Longhorns Bully Award

In October 2013, Scytl was awarded the Longhorns 2013 Bully Award (in the poste series A firms in growth stage) by White Bull for its excellence in innovation and growth potential.

The criteria for final selection included insight to the company´s market potential, competitive landscape, business model and revenue, execution of key milestones, customer base growth and management team and structure to drive company forward. The granting of the awards is done by judges of the caliber of San Francisco Chronicle’s David Einstein, USA Today Tech Columnist Mark Veverka, Google’s Yves Cornaz,  GigaOM’s David Meyer, Red Herring’s former Editor in Chief Joel Dreyfuss, R Merger Markets (Financial Times Group), Rupert Cock, BBC/CNN Analyst, Ralph Silva, to name a few.

2011 European Tech Tour

In 2011 Scytl was selected by the European Tech Tour Association as one of the top 25 most innovative and promising companies in Southern Europe with the potential to impact the global technology landscape. The European Tech Tour Association is an independent non-profit organization committed to the development of emerging technology companies from Europe that organizes regional events aimed at introducing leading technology companies to key European, US and Asian investors.

2011 eWorld Forum Award

The Internet voting project implemented by Scytl in the State of Gujarat has received the 2011 eWorld Forum Award. This Indian state, with a population of 50 million people was the first state to implement Internet voting in public elections in India. The first online elections under this 5-year project were successfully carried out in September 2010. A second round of online elections took place in March 2011, during Gandhinagar’s Municipal Corporation elections. The 2011 eWorld Forum Award rewards the best innovative projects in the field of eGovernance. The eWorld Forum 2011, launched by Shree Kapil Sibal, India’s Minister of ICT, was organized by the Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) and Elets Technomedia Private Limited in association with the Indian Department of Information Technology (DIT), the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Department of Science and Technology.

Telegraph Tech Start-Up 100

In April 2011, Scytl was selected as one of the most promising IT companies in Europe by the prestigious British newspaper The Telegraph within the framework of its Start-Up 100 initiative. Start-Up 100 is an attempt to create the most authoritative and trustworthy ranking of promising technology start-ups in Europe and was carried out in association with TechCrunch Europe and supported by Orrick, Silicon Valley Bank and Microsoft BizSpark

2010 National Media Awards: Internet

In June 2010, Scytl was declared the winner of the National Internet Award by the Government of Catalonia. The purpose of this award is to give recognition to the most significant contributions in the field of communications and telecommunications in Catalonia. 2008 Barcelona City Award

In 2008, The Barcelona City Council awarded the prize for Technological Research to Scytl. This award is an important recognition to the creation and development of a secure solution applied to electronic voting. This work is an example of collaboration between university and business, and provides answers to the new challenges that society faces in terms of citizen participation. European Venture Contest

Scytl was declared the winner of the 2007 edition of the prestigious European Venture Contest by a jury formed by 17 international VC funds. The European Venture Contest is considered to be the most prestigious award for a European technology company. In the 2007 edition, there were a total of 576 applications from technology companies from all over Europe. After a rigorous selection process, 125 of those companies presented in 5 European cities and 17 were declared finalists and invited to present to the final in Barcelona. On December 11, 2007, Scytl was declared the winner by the jury during the award ceremony.

Leaders of the ITech-Economy

In 2007, Scytl was awarded the prestigious Leaders of the ITech-Economy Prize by the IE-Club for its innovative technology and great international potential. The IE-Club is a French organization that organizes annually, in partnership with Euro-case (the European Council of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering) and the CCIP (Chamber of Commerce of Paris), the Leaders of the ITech-Economy Prize, aimed at rewarding and promoting innovative technology businesses with international potential.

Best case label – eGovernment Awards

In 2007, Scytl’s e-participation project Madrid Participa was recognized as one of the beste-government initiatives during the 4th Ministerial Conference on e-Government of the European Union and received the prestigious Best Case Label from the European Commission. The Europe eGovernment Award is aimed at promoting good practices among the Member States, the candidate countries and the EFTA countries. The most outstanding applications presented at the conference are awarded with the prestigious Europe eGovernment Award.

SSD Highly Successful Project Award

In 2007, the e-voting project that Scytl and Hewlett-Packard (HP) carried out during the November 2006 parliamentary election in the Australian State of Victoria received the SSD Highly Successful Projects Award. This internal HP award is one of the three that HP has granted in the Asia-Pacific region in 2007 to recognize the best executed projects.

Excellency in Technological Innovation Award

In 2006, the Catalonian Association of Technical Telecommunications Engineers (COETTC) granted Scytl the Excellency in Technological Innovation Award. This award is an important recognition to Scytl’s 14 years of pioneering research in the field of application-level cryptography and e-voting security.

Red Herring 100 Europe

In 2006, Scytl was awarded the Red Herring 100 Europe Award by Red Herring magazine for its breakthrough secure e-voting technology. The Red Herring 100 Europe Award recognizes the 100 finest private companies in Europe that the Red Herring magazine judges to be leading the way through innovation and technology. Companies like Google, eBay and Skype were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors, and touted as leaders that would change the way we live and work.

Global Innovator

In 2006, Scytl was named Global Innovator for its unique technology and market approach. The Global Innovator award is granted by The Guideware Group, a leading global early stage technology research firm organizing the Innovate!Europe event – only executive-level conference dedicated to the Pan-European technology ecosystem. The Global Innovator rewards each year the 10 most promising technology companies.

ICT Prize

In 2005, Scytl was awarded the prestigious ICT Prize for its security solution for e-voting:Pnyx.core.  The ICT Prize is the most distinguished prize for innovative products and services in the field of ICT. The ICT Prize is organised by Euro-CASE (the European Council of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering), with the sponsorship and support of the European Commission. The prize is granted to companies or organisations that present an innovative ICT product or service with a promising market potential.
