Scytl's
electronic voting solutions are especially designed to carry out by
electronic means elections
and citizen consultations
with the same level of security, trust and privacy that exist in
conventional paper-based elections. Scytl′s secure electronic voting
solutions can be licensed and integrated with the client's systems on a
permanent basis or offered under an ASP model with all the services
provided by Scytl or its partners.
:: Citizen Participation (e-Participation)
The use of
information and communication technologies in citizen participation
processes, also known as eDemocracy, offers multiple advantages to the
citizens as well as to the public administrations.
International
institutions such as the Organization of American States
(OAS)
and the Council of
Europe have issued
recommendations to foster the implementation of e-democracy in federal,
regional and local governments. These recommendations highlight the
importance e-democracy to bring governments closer to their citizens
and involve citizens in the decision-making processes that directly
affect them.
If you want to
carry out a citizen consultation taking full advantage of what new
technologies have to offer, then Pnyx.government
is your solution. It allows the organization of all kinds of electoral
processes (elections, referendums, surveys, citizen consultations,
etc.) in a simple, secure and reliable manner by means of a simple web
browser or a mobile phone. |

|
|
On the other hand,
if you already have an electronic voting platform from which to consult
your citizens but would like to add the best security solution
available today, then Pnyx.core
is your solution.
Pnyx.core
is a software module that implements a cryptographic protocol
especially developed to solve the problems of privacy and security in
the e-voting market. Pnyx.core
can be integrated into any e-voting platform to guarantee the same
level of trust, security and privacy that exist in conventional
paper-based elections without having to trust either the administrators
of the system or the complex technological systems used. |

Scytl has recently signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Gov2U, a prestigious Greek NGO focused on the promotion of e-democracy. This agreement allows Scytl to commercialize around the world Gov2DemOSS, a state of the art solution designed to facilitate the implementation of e-democracy in City Councils. Gov2DemOSS is integrated with Pnyx.government to allow flexible and secure citizen consultations. |

:: Electoral Processes (Elections)
Electronic voting
is regarded by many governments as the next natural step in the
evolution of electoral processes. Electronic voting offers many
advantages over the conventional paper-based electoral systems,
including greater speed and accuracy in the counting process,
prevention of involuntary voting errors, better accessibility for
people with disabilities, lower costs, support of multiple languages,
greater flexibility, etc. Additionally, Internet voting allows voters
to cast their votes from any device connected to the Internet (e.g.,
PC, mobile phone, etc.), which can increase the participation rates in
an election.
Because of the
potential of electronic voting to improve the current electoral
systems, the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Council of
Europe, have established
standards and guidelines on how to implement it in a secure and
reliable manner. Scytl collaborated with the Council of
Europe in the security and audit
standards set in its Recommendation
issued in September 2004.
If you want to use
the Internet as a voting channel in your next election, we recommend
you Pnyx.government,
our secure and multi-channel (Internet and mobile phone) electronic
voting platform. |

On the other hand,
if you already have an electronic voting platform from which to consult

is your solution.

If you want to offer citizens the possibility of voting electronically from touch-screen electronic voting terminals located in polling stations, we recommend Pnyx.DRE. Pnyx.DRE is an innovative software solution that turns a standard PC into a secure, accessible and reliable Direct Recording Electronic (DRE) voting terminal. Pnyx.DRE ensures the integrity of the votes, voters’ privacy, the auditability of election results, and offers a number of verification mechanisms that enable voters to check the correct casting and recording of their votes. Pnyx.DRE is a cost-effective solution that allows reusing the PCs of the voting terminal after the election for other purposes (schools, libraries, etc.).
|
|
|
If you
already have poll-site electronic voting terminals (e.g., DREs) and want to
enhance their security, Scytl's Pnyx.VM
is your solution. Pnyx.VM provides redundancy, enhanced auditability and voter-verifiability to
any electronic voting terminal. By means of a simple easy-to-audit
external module connected to the DRE, Pnyx.VM enables voters to verify their votes before they are cast and recorded.
Pnyx.VM also provides redundancy to the voting system through a double-register
of the votes. All the critical procedures are carried out and verified
in this module and, therefore, its audit and certification are
sufficient to ensure a secure and reliable election. |
|
|
Finally, if you
have a Voter-Verify Paper Audit Trail solution (VVPAT) implemented in
your current poll-site electronic voting equipment (e.g. DREs), and you
want to enhance its security and accessibility, Pnyx.VVPAT
is your solution. Pnyx.VVPAT
by means of a simple Audit Module connected to the
DRE and the printer, Pnyx.VVPAT cryptographically protects both the
printed paper ballots and the corresponding digital votes after the
ballots have been verified and confirmed by the voters. With Pnyx.VVPAT,
the
integrity of the election results can be guaranteed
without having to rely on the correct functioning of the DRE or on the
physical handling of the paper ballots.
Additionally, Pnyx.VVPAT provides accessibility to VVPAT solutions for blind and
visually
impaired voters. |
