Scytl has been selected by the Electoral Commission of Mexico City to provide its Internet voting solution to allow overseas citizens from Mexico city to cast votes electronically in the next state election which will be held in July 2012. This project represents the first time that Internet voting is used by overseas citizens in Mexico and Latin America. The project will also implement an innovative system to distribute voter credential to overseas citizens. According to Commissioner Nestor Vargas Solano, this project “will enhance turnout in the election and will represent a significant step in modernizing and simplifying elections not only in Mexico City but in the entire country”.
Scytl will take part in the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Winter Conference which will be held in Washington DC on January 28 - 31. Scytl will exhibit its MOVE compliant solutions for overseas voting and will share its exhibition space with the recently acquired SOE Software, the leading software provider of election management solutions in the United States. The conference will be attended by Secretaries of State and Lieutenant Governors from 39 US states and territories. Founded in 1904, NASS is the United States' oldest, non-partisan professional organization for state officials.
